Tri-State thus far installed 80 rock-socketed caissons of two different-sized casings to support the new pump station and pipe bridges.
The Project
The project includes the installation of four 3.2-million-gallon digesters, a gas room, a control building, a digester feed pump station, a guardhouse, and walkway bridges. It also includes a few systems works, site clearing, and excavation.
The Solution
Tri-State thus far installed 80 rock-socketed caissons of two different-sized casings to support the new pump station and pipe bridges. We also installed 42 soldier piles to facilitate the excavation for the new digesters and associated pipe chase. Two lateral load tests were successfully performed to substantiate the design lateral loads.
The Challenge
The challenges include working closely with the general contractor and NYC DEP to ensure their daily operations will not be affected by the relocating and drilling of our work.
